PETRO Gazz extended its winning streak to four matches, demolishing winless BaliPure, 25-19, 25-12, 25-15, on Wednesday in the PVL Reinforced Conference at the Arena in San Juan.
The Angels, who have yet to lose a single set, tightened their grip on the top spot with a quick one-hour and 12-minute win over the Water Defenders.
Wilma Salas and Janisa Johnson had 12 points each, while Jeanette Panaga had seven kills, three blocks and an ace for 11 points.
Jonah Sabete added eight markers, while Djanel Cheng made 16 excellent sets.
Coach Arnold Laniog hopes Petro Gazz can sustain the run as they finish the first round of eliminations against Pacifictown-Army (2-1) on Saturday.
“The more na nananalo, the more na rin hindi dapat magiging complacent kasi yung mga kalaban lalong magpeprepare yan lalo sa second round,” Laniog said. “Hopefully, may maihanda kaming gameplan going to the second round kasi siyempre yung kalaban binabasa kami.”
BaliPure came up with another error-filled performance with 24 miscues.
Nobody scored in double figures for the Water Defenders with Alexandra Vajdova scoring eight points and Danijela Dzakovic and Satriani Espiritu adding seven markers apiece.
