PETRO Gazz cruised to its third win in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference, defeating Pocari Sweat-Air Force, 25-19. 20-25, 28-26, 25-21, on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.
Ukranian imports Olena Lymareva-Flink and Anastasiia Trach led the way for the Angels, who moved back to .500 and tied their victims for fourth place after starting the campaign with three losses.
Lymareva-Flink scored a game-high 30 points while Trach had 17 markers, 17 digs and 18 excellent receptions in an impressive all-around performance.
“Kumakapit eh, (it’s) good, it shows na kahit papaano meron tayong detremination, may kapit,” said Petro Gazz coach Jerry Yee. “So happy tayo doon.
“(But) we try to work on sa mga slow starts na ganyan hindi pwede ‘yan,” he added.
Skipper Myla Pablo and finished with 20 points for Pocari Sweat-Air Force, while American imports Madeline Palmer and Arielle Love had 17 and 13 markers, respectively.
