PETRO Gazz reclaimed its position in a three-way tie for the league lead by defeating Galeries Tower in straight sets, 25-7, 25-21, 25-17, during the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at the City of Santa Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex.
Jonah Sabete showed the way for the Angels with 11 points on seven attacks, two blocks and two aces.

Having won their last four matches, the Angels joined last conference’s finalists Creamline and Choco Mucho as league leaders in the elimination round’s home stretch, all sharing 8-2 (win-loss) records.

"Unang-una, sumunod lang din po kami sa game plan ng coaches namin. Also, thankful ako na nakapag-contribute ako sa team and mas marami pa kaming kailangang i-ensayo pa.
"'Yung mga lapses namin kailangan pang i-adjust kasi pahirap na rin 'yung next games and ‘di pa rin kami pwedeng basta-bastang mag-relax," said Petro Gazz captain Remy Palma who pitched in eight attack points.
Entering the tail-end of a tight-knit preliminaries, the conference's leading scorer in Brooke Van Sickle had more than enough left in the tank to carry the scoring load with a game-high 17 points built on 13 attacks, three aces and one block.

Veteran Angels pair Marian Buitre (seven points) and Myla Pablo (six points) played quality minutes, bolstering Petro Gazz' last-gasp chase to the semifinals.
Following a breakthrough third victory over Farm Fresh, Galeries Tower was cut down to size with no service aces and just one block in the one-hour, 28-minute contest in the league's last out-of-town trip for the conference.
The Angels will close out their elimination round campaign in a bid to secure their semifinals spot against also-ran Nxled on Apr. 27
