PETRO Gazz completed a first-round sweep with a 25-12, 29-27, 25-15 victory over Pacifictown-Army on Saturday PVL Reinforced Conference at the Arena in San Juan.
Wilma Salas and Janisa Johnson showed the way as usual as the Angels rose to a 5-0 win-loss record.
Salas had 27 points on 19 spikes, six service aces and two blocks, while Johnson delivered 22 points off 17 kills, three blocks and two aces.
Cai Baloaloa scored seven and Cherry Nunag added six markers, while Djanel Cheng dished out 15 excellent sets.
“Hindi talaga namin intention na wag magpatalo kada set,” said PetroGazz coach Arnold Laniog.
“Basta ang focus namin every time we step on the court talagang mag-perform kami dun sa best of ability namin. Mai-run lang namin ang napag-usapan nami sa training doon sa kalaban namin.”
The Lady Troopers only had 10 errors compared to the Angels’ 21 miscues but PetroGazz dominated the attacking (47-23) and blocking (12-3) departments.
Jenelle Jordan and Lymareva-Flink had 11 points apiece as Pacifictown-Army dropped to a 2-2 record, tied with BanKo, which it battles on Sunday at 2 p.m.
