Making their semis-opening win much sweeter was how the Angels gained a measure of revenge five months since getting swept by the defending champions at the same Antipolo venue in the second week of prelims play.

It also ended the Angels’ 735-day wait to win a playoff game over their perennial title foes.
Prior to tonight, the last time they did so was back in Game One of the 2023 1st All-Filipino Conference finals on Mar. 26 before losing the title series to Creamline in three games.
