PVL champion teams Creamline and Petro Gazz will now begin their respective searches for foreign guest players to boost their oncoming campaigns in the 2025 AVC Women’s Champions League.
However, league president Ricky Palou bared a loophole which won’t necessarily work in the Angels’ favor.
Petro Gazz can only tap one more foreign guest player for the tournament, while Creamline still has three full selections.

This is because reigning PVL MVP Brooke Van Sickle and MJ Phillips, both of whom are Filipino-Americans, cannot be listed as local players while still affiliated with USA Volleyball.
“We don’t know what their plans are because they are entitled to three imports, and we don’t know if they will get three imports,” said Palou.
“Although sa Petro Gazz, si (MJ) Phillips and Brooke (Van Sickle), they are considered as imports because they belong to the US federation, so they can still get one more," headded.
“I don’t know what the plans of Creamline are as of this time.”
Meanwhile, the Cool Smashers will have the liberty of choosing three new imports that might include their latest American reinforcement in 24-year-old Erica Staunton.

Staunton led Creamline to the Grand Slam in last year’s Reinforced and Invitational Conferences where she was named best outside spiker in the latter.
