PETRO Gazz dominated skidding Adamson-Akari, 25-17, 25-20, 25-13, to end the first round of elimination of the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference on a high note on Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.
Cai Baloaloa finished with 14 points, while Alyssa Layug added 11 and Cherry Nunag had 10 for the Angles, who improved to 4-3.
“Happy (ako sa ending) and more practice pa,” said Petro Gazz coach Jerry Yee. “May mga games tayong nasayang (sa first round) so try nating bumawi.”
It was a tough first round for the Angles, who had to play five games, including two back-to-back weekend games, in nine days.
Petro Gazz will make use of the next three weeks to recuperate as they face Iriga-Navy on November 3 according to the schedule released by Sports Vision on October 8.
Bernadette Flora made 11 points for Adamson-Akari, which remained winless in five outings.
The Lady Falcons can still end its first round campaign with a win as they face Ateneo-Motolite on Sunday.
