PERLAS remained in hunt for a semis spot in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference after beating Air Force, 24-26, 25-15, 26-28, 25-20, 15-8, on Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan.
The Spikers bagged their first win in two outings to tie Creamline for second spot with a 1-1 (win-loss) card in the round-robin quarterfinals.
Brazilian import Rupia Inck poured in 30 points for the Spikers while Kathy Bersola added 15 and skipper Dzi Gervacio chipped in 12.
Gervacio welcomed a second consecutive five-setter, saying it will toughen up the team heading to the best-of-three semifinals.
“Ok na rin na nakapasok kami sa quarters para we see what adjustments that we need to do if we go to the semifinals,” said Gervacio.
Perlas will face defending champion Pocari Sweat (2-0) on Thursday
The Lady Jet Spikers dropped to 0-2 but remained in with a chance at the semis. They play Creamline next.
Jocemer Tapic made 16 points for Air Force, while team captain Joy Cases added 10 and Thai import Patcharee Saengmuang contributed eight.
