TACLOBAN’s hard-hitting opposite spiker Dimdim Pacres felt so bad after a powerful spike hurt Pocari Sweat-Air Force Jeanette Panaga with a facial during their Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Season 2 Open Conference match on Wednesday.
With the Fighting Warays staring at a 1-2 set deficit, Pacres rose to unleash a strong spike down the line that hit Panaga in the face, knocking down the Lady Warriors middle blocker to the floor at The Arena in San Juan.
Panaga was slow to get up while Pacres rushed to apologize. The Pocari ace needed to be subbed as she was spitting blood due to a cut inside her lip.
“I feel bad kasi may nasaktan ako. Ayaw ko makasakit,” said Pacres, who capped a 17-point performance with the game-winning hit in Tacloban 20-25, 25-13, 24-26, 25-16, 15-13 victory.
Another strong Pacres attack hit Pocari star Myla Pablo on the chest. The two-time league MVP also took time to get up before being subbed to have her troublesome back checked by a physical therapist.
The two players returned to action, but Pacres remained remorseful.
Tacloban coach Nes Pamilar was quick to make his player feel better.
The Tacloban coach was also all praises for new recruit Pacres, who has two wins in her first three games with the team.
Pacres, though, admitted she still has a lot of things to work on.
