VETERAN coach Onyok Getigan will be tasked to steer a team of 'first-timers' for Premier Volleyball League (PVL) debutant Strong Group Athletics (SGA).
While little is known about the composition of the SGA team, team managers CK Canapi-Daniolco and assistant Kiara Cruz gave a few hints on the squad's college-laden side a day before the league's deadline of roster submissions.

"Basically, we have selected already our players. As much possible, let’s not really have high expectations yet because these players that we got are basically first-timers in the league. Hopefully along the way, we’ll live up to our name as Strong Group," Canapi-Daniolco said.
Cruz added: "For now I can reveal [that] the players are coming from UAAP schools din, may NCAA schools din, mga ex-pro na hindi na nakapag-pro ulit. Head coach nito is coach Onyok Getigan. Siya po yung developmental coach ng KMS, Kings’ Montessori School."
Getigan was a mainstay in the Philippine volleyball scene with three Palarong Pambansa gold medals to his name before taking over the reins of the Adamson Baby Falcons in UAAP girls' volleyball.
Through the guidance of SGA founder and owner Frank Lao, who has been nothing short of supportive in giving young players opportunities to play, Cruz looks to foster an 'expectations-free' environment as SGA begins building its brand-new, youngster-laden team from the ground up.
"Siguro as a very new team of course, boss Frank (Lao) really just wants to give an opportunity for these kids to play. We don’t want any expectations from them because they’re a very, very young team. Very young team si Farm Fresh, ito very young team talaga. No names sila as in. Siguro 'yung iba kilala niyo pero we just want them to have the opportunity [to play]," said Cruz.
