THERE’S working on short notice, and there’s Nxled import Meegan Hart only having roughly 24 hours between her first full training session and her eventual PVL debut.

And still, it all ended with a well-earned win.

It was a last-minute switch that saw the American middle blocker replace Chinese spiker Jiang Xuanyao as the Chameleons’ import.

The late change was ultimately settled just moments before Nxled began its Reinforced Conference campaign against a Galeries Tower side that also had its fair share of reinforcement concerns.

In the end, Hart's first act was one to remember after firing 19 huge points built on 12 attacks and an opening day-best seven kill blocks.

Not bad for a debut.

Faster than a Hart-beat

The Colorado and Iowa State alumna also acknowledged how her ‘fast transition’ moved in such a speed that was just right for her to grasp the ‘scrappy’ style of volleyball with the help of her welcoming squad.

“(Philippine volleyball) is a lot faster than what I’m used to. Really scrappy, plays are a little bit longer. So I think, it’s just adjusting to the length (of the games), but overall, it’s been good," she said.

“I think it’s a fast transition, but again, I’ve been welcomed with open arms. I always put my best foot forward and I’m always ready. It’s just trusting in my game and in my teammates, and the coaching staff."

Safe to say, team chemistry in such short a time hasn’t been too much of a problem for Hart.

“I’m fitting in really well, the girls have been super supportive. Helping me out with communication things, the calls, and just like the little things. I think it hasn’t been too hard (even if) it happened fast," she said.

Hart, a former US NCAA All-Pac 12 Conference First Team selection, is ready to test her mettle against the likes of a familiar foe in reigning PVL MVP Brooke Van Sickle.

“Brooke is an amazing player. She’s super scrappy, she knows how to score. Overall, she’s a great player, so I’m excited to be here and I saw her the other day, it’s fun to see a familiar face. I’m really excited to see her across the net," she said.
