WHAT started as a playful post-game shoutout turned into a dream come true for May Luna-Lumahan and Nxled.
“Hello raw po kay Donny Pangilinan,” she said during the team’s upset win over Petro Gazz to open the 2025 PVL on Tour two weeks ago.
Upon hearing Nxled’s message, Pangilinan made a promise to the team that he’ll be watching one of their games live.

Promise fulfilled
One of the country’s most popular hearthrobs sat courtside as Nxled swept Galeries Tower, 26-24, 25-23, 25-23, on Tuesday at the Playtime Filoil Centre.
His arrival was even a timely one as the Chameleons started to erase a 4-13 deficit just as he took his seat near their bench.
Luna-Lumahan received a message hours before their match that Pangilinan would make an appearance.
Thinking it was a message too good to be true, she didn’t keep her hopes up too high.
“Hindi talaga ako nag-expect na pupunta siya kasi siyempre as an artist, sobrang busy niya talaga. Pero kaning morning, nung nag-text na talaga, parang ‘oh my God, pupunta talaga siya.’ Like, totoo na ba talaga ‘to,” said Luna-Lumahan.
“I’m so happy. Pero siyempre, focus pa rin sa goal, which is yung manalo and bonus na pumunta si Donny. Inspired kami buong team pero trinabaho din naman talaga namin.”

All giddy emotions aside after his post-game dugout visit, Luna-Lumahan had a candid reflection of how the work they’ve put in for a franchise-best 3-0 start has led to something much bigger.
“Sinasabi ni coach [Ettore Guidetti] na yung mga support na dumarating sa amin, yung mga opportunities na dumarating sa’min. bonus na lang talaga ‘yun,” she said.
“After last PVL All-Filipino, nag-training na agad kami. Two days lang 'yung pahinga namin so I think, dahil din sa hard work namin ngayong offseason.”
