THE new-look NXLED stayed unscathed in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference, and these Chameleons are only getting better and better.
In a battle between two unbeaten teams in the tournament, it was NXLED which stood tall in the end after a 25-19, 25-22, 27-25 sweep of Cignal on Saturday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
With the win, the Chameleons now take early leadership in the All-Filipino Conference with 3-0 record, while the Super Spikers dropped to 3-1. PLDT remains the only other unbeaten team in the tournament with a 2-0 slate.
Down 0-2 in the game, the Super Spikers opened the third set strong, going up 6-2 in the hopes of extending the game.
Despite the Chameleons storming back to take control of the set, the Super Spikers didn't go away easily, making one last rally to take the first set-point, but it just wasn't meant to be.
Brooke Van Sickle pushed the Chameleons back ahead before Vanie Gandler's attack on the wing was ruled out to formalize the win.
Setter Jules Tolentino took best player honors after finishing with five points and 19 excellent sets, setting the table for her plethora of attackers who certainly didn't put her effort to waste.
Van Sickle and MJ Phillips led the way for the Chameleons with 14 points apiece, all coming from spikes. Myla Pablo chipped in 12 while Lyann de Guzman added nine in a balanced attacking front for Nxled.
Erika Santos led the way for Cignal as her 15 point night went for naught.
