DEFENDING champion National University remained unbeaten and posted its third shutout win in four games by beating Far Eastern U, 25-19, 25-23, 25-19, on Thursday to clinch a quarterfinal berth in the V-League First Conference at The Arena in San Juan City.
Dindin Santiago blasted 13 hits while Carmina Aganon added 10 points, Jaja Santiago had nine markers and Jane Mandapat and Aiko Urdas tossed in eight and six points, respectively, for the Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Bulldogs sit firmly on top of Group B with a 4-0 record, while UST is a distant second with a 1-1 win-loss mark.
The Lady Tamaraws, led by Mary Palma’s nine points and Bernadette Pons and Genevieve Casugod’s identical seven hits, dropped to joint third with San Sebastian at 1-2.
