On Sunday, two days before the PVL Finals begin, its Spikers’ Turf sibling team Criss Cross missed out on a maiden title win after losing the rubber match to nine-time champion Cignal in straight sets, 22-25, 16-25, 26-28, with some Creamline players watching on from the sidelines.

The Final Four-bound Lady Bulldogs struggled to find their rhythm in the absence of reigning best opposite spiker Alyssa Solomon who had to sit out the match with a minor left ankle sprain.
National U has only lost twice in 11 matches in its UAAP Season 87 title defense so far, but both came at the hands of lower-ranked teams in Adamson and University of the Philippines.
Had NU won over Adamson, it would have eliminated the Lady Falcons from Final Four contention with a 3-7 record before their contest.
Will Creamline solve Petro Gazz puzzle?
Coming off a four-set loss to Petro Gazz in their penultimate semifinals match, Creamline is now faced with a tall order of solving the Angels puzzle after struggling to hit their marks the last time around in Antipolo.
Game One of the best-of-three championship series is on Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
