FOUR players stepped up in Gretchel Soltones' absence as San Sebastian turned back University of Perpetual Help, 25-18, 17-25, 27-25, 23-25, 15-13, in the Shakey's V-League Season 11 First Conference at The Arena on Tuesday.

Czarina Berbano poured in 19 points, Jolina Labiano contributed 16, guest player Ryzabelle Devanadera added 15 and Bea Uy chipped in 11 for SSC, which endured the absence of the hard-hitting Soltones to book its first win of the V-League season.

Sophomore Soltones sat out the game due to a sprained ankle she suffered in their previous game against Far Eastern University.

SSC is now in second spot in Group B with an even record of 1-1, just behind leader National University (2-0).

Jamela Suyat came up with 21 markers while guest player Abi Praca had 18, Norie Jane Diaz made 17 and Ana Diocareza finished with 10 for the Lady Altas.

The three-time NCAA champions had more blocks (7-5) and service aces (11-9) but gave three bonus points to SSC from their errors.
