NICOLE Tiamzon came up huge anew as BanKo-Perlas routed winless BaliPure, 25-18, 25-19, 25-21, on Wednesday in the PVL Reinforced Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
The Perlas Spikers moved to a share of third with PacificTown-Army at 4-5, securing at least a playoff for a semifinal berth
The Lady Troopers and Perlas Spikers clash on Saturday for the third spot in the semifinals.
Tiamzon delivered the big hits in the third set and finished with 19 points.
“We all have our own functions inside the court, kahit sino naman pwede bigyan,” said Tiamzon, who scored five of the team’s last eight points in the third set.
“Kapag mga ganyan kailangan mo talaga magcontribute para maclose yung game.”
“We’re hungry to win talaga and makapasok ng semis kasi nung first round parang 50:50 talaga. Although hanggang ngayon hindi pa talaga sure but we need to double time,” she added.
Thai import Sutadta Chuewulim put up 12 points and made 10 digs and 10 excellent receptions, while middle blockers Yasemin Yildirim and Kathy Bersola provided eight of the team 11 blocks. Yildirim scored nine and Bersola added eight.
“We can’t afford na maging complacent ang hirap umasa sa panalo or talo ng ibang kalaban,” Tiamzon added. “Kahit ano man yung bigay sa amin kailangan namin paghirapan talaga whether it’s third or fourth place.”
Alexandra Vajdova led the Water Defenders with 13 points and made 16 excellent receptions and 11 digs, while Danijela Dzakovic added 12 markers.
Balipure is winless in nine matches.
