NATIONAL University demolished hapless University of Santo Tomas, 25-22, 25-23, 25-11, to seize solo second spot in the Shakey's V-League Season 12 Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan on Sunday.
Guest player and former NU skipper Dindin Santiago-Manabat came away with 13 points for the Lady Bulldogs, who now carry a 5-1 (win-loss) card behind unbeaten Ateneo (6-0).
Myla Pablo added 11 for NU, while Jorelle Singh and Jaja Santiago had 10 apiece.
NU just needed an hour and 19 minutes to put an end to UST's four game winning run, but Lady Bulldogs coach Roger Gorayeb downplayed their win.
“Mababa talaga laro ng UST,” said the veteran mentor. “Marami kaming errors pero mababa talaga (laro ng UST).”
Mela Tunay and Pam Lastimosa combined for 15 quiet points for the Tigresses, who dropped to third spot (4-2).
