CANDON CITY — Myla Pablo and Rald Ricafort are no longer keeping things subtle.
The budding romance between the former Petro Gazz star and her ex-coach was very much evident, as they reunited in Team Heart during the PVL All-Star Game, marking their first time on the same side since their championship run with the Angels in 2022.
And beyond the team name, there was plenty of heart involved between the two.

From their shy exchanges on the sidelines to their usual competitive edge on the court, Pablo looked right at home playing under a coach who knows her inside and out.
“Si coach Rald kasi, kilala ako kung paano ako maglaro, lalo na kapag nakakalaban namin sila sa PLDT,” said the Nxled spiker of the High Speed Hitters shot-caller. “Mafi-feel mo naman ‘yung tiwala niya sa'yo sa loob ng court.”

That trust has long been there, but this time, it seemed to carry a more personal layer for her.
“Naging maganda rin talaga [‘yung dynamic namin] kaya nakakagalaw ako nang maayos. ‘Yung tiwala niya, ‘yung love niya, ‘yung heart niya...” she added with a laugh.
First time for everything
Still, the All-Star experience was not just about a familiar presence, as Pablo also got to share the court with both rising and established stars, including fellow National U product Bella Belen and longtime rival Alyssa Valdez.

“Si ate Aly, pangalawang beses ko na siyang naging teammate, mula nu’ng sa under-23 (national team), and ngayon also si Bella, first time ko siyang maka-teammate, kaya ang saya kasi may mga bata kaming nakasama sa loob ng court and kami as veteran naman is naga-guide sila sa loob ng court,” she said.
For Pablo, it was a night that brought together comfort, connection, and, perhaps, a bit of something more.
