MYLENE Paat has emerged as the Strong Group Athletics (SGA) stable’s biggest offseason acquisition to date.
The former PVL champion and league MVP has found a new home under the SGA umbrella, with either Farm Fresh or ZUS Coffee set to be her next destination following Chery Tiggo’s disbandment last December.

Paat’s signing further bolsters what has already been an aggressive offseason haul for SGA, bringing its total number of free-agent additions to nine in just over a month, with more moves potentially still on the table.
All of SGA’s new acquisitions remain unassigned for now, with final placements between the Foxies and the Thunderbelles expected to be determined ahead of the 2026 PVL season.

The eclectic mix of incoming Strong Group Athletics (SGA) young guns and veterans now also includes EJ Paat, joining Imee Hernandez, Remy Palma, Chie Saet, Bia General, Royse Tubino, Cess Robles, Karen Verdeflor and Renee Peñafiel.
Paat’s four-year run with Chery Tiggo was a tale of unprecedented highs and abrupt setbacks.

She joined the Crossovers in 2021, a period that overlapped with her first and highly decorated overseas stint with Thai powerhouse Nakhon Ratchasima.
That same year, Paat played a key role in Chery Tiggo’s historic Open Conference title run, making them the PVL’s first-ever champions in the pro era.
She also capped the season with a silver medal finish in the inaugural PNVF Women’s Champions League, further cementing her status as one of the league’s elite opposite hitters.
Paat’s finest individual showing as a Crossover came in the 2022 Reinforced Conference.
Despite Chery Tiggo narrowly missing the podium, she emerged as the conference MVP while also taking home the best opposite hitter award, the first and only PVL MVP citation of her career to date.

Two years later, however, her trajectory took a severe hit after she suffered supraspinatus tendinitis on her left shoulder.
Paat herself described the injury as the most serious of her career, one that kept her sidelined for 14 months and derailed what had been a steady prime.
Although she managed to return during Chery Tiggo’s final year in the league, the move to SGA now offers Paat a clean slate and a long-awaited opportunity to fully restart her career heading into the 2026 PVL season and beyond.
