MYLA Pablo’s return from lower back muscle strain will depend on her training ahead of Motolite’s back-to-back games over the weekend in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference.
After sitting out in the first three games, where her team wound up winless, Motolite assistant coach Godfrey Okumu bared that Pablo is already cleared to play this weekend.
But it still depends on her performance in the team practices for their Saturday’s game against defending champion Creamline (2-1) and Sunday’s match facing BaliPure (0-3) both played at the Arena in San Juan City.
“The doctors say that she could be able to play this weekend but it all depends on how she trains,” said Okumu speaking for Motolite head coach Air Padda. “If she’ll be available for training. We could let her play, the head coach will let her play.”
The former National University star already trained on Thursday but not in full blast according to the Kenyan coach.
“We don’t want her to go back to her same recurring injury, we want her to heal,” Okumu said.
But if Pablo proves she‘s ready to play on Friday’s training, the star outside hitter will finally make her Motolite debut.
With newly arrived import Krystle Esdelle replacing injured Edina Selimovic, Motolite absorbed the same result as BanKo handed its third straight loss.
Okumu said that their young team badly needs the leadership, scoring prowess and experience of Pablo.
“We really need her,” Okumu said. “She’s the only person with a lot of experience so we need her and we are praying for her to recover quickly so she can finally play for the team.”
