REIGNING MVP Myla Pablo is elated to embark a new journey with Motolite as she leads a young team in the Premier Volleyball League season kicking off on May 25.
“New team, new journey with Motolite,” said Pablo, who graced the PVL Fans Grand Day on Thursday at the Trinoma Activity Center in Quezon City. “Mga bata ang mga kasama ko. Siguro as ate, ang maibibigay ko lang sa kanila ay ang best ko and yung attitude ko sa loob ng court.”
The former National University star felt as if she is back in the UAAP as she leads a team that also has UP stars Tots Carlos, Isa Molde, Ayel Estranero and Marist Layug, current Adamson players Thang Ponce and Eli Soyud as well as former Lady Falcons Fhen Emnas and Jellie Tempiatura.
Pablo also announced the name of Ateneo star Maddie Madayag in the fans day that made the crowd roar. But she later insisted nothing is final about her status.
Although a young team, Pablo is confident Motolite can hold a candle against the league's top teams.
“Ang ibinigay sa akin na team ngayon ay mas competitive ngayong year na ‘to,” she added. “Sobrang kompiyansa ako sa team ko ngayon kasi alam kong sa mga teammates ko na magtutulong-tulong kami as a team.”
Pablo, who won three league titles with Pocari and two with NU in the Collegiate Conference, believes they won’t have a hard time building team chemistry.
“Sabi naman namin as a team, with the coaches and management talaga na kahit hindi tayo nagpa-practice ng sobrang tagal at least kahit sa konting araw man lang na nagdyi-jell tayo sa training,” Pablo said.
