MYLA Pablo assured that a metatarsal sprain on her right foot is nothing serious and vowed to come back for Motolite in the second round of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Season 3 Open Conference.
"Second round makakalaro na ako,” said Pablo as she witnessed Motolite survived BanKo in five sets on Wednesday at the Arena in San Juan City.
The Motolite skipper walked with the aid of crutches but said it’s just for precautionary measures as the MRI result on her right foot cleared her from any major injury.
“Thank God naman lahat ng MRI ko clear,” said Pablo, who celebrated her 26th birthday on the sidelines. “Actually pagaling na ako, nakakalakad na rin ako. Kailangan ko magsaklay para mabilis gumaling, kasi kung lakad ako nang lakad mabubugbog.”
The two-time league MVP admitted that she was too aggressive last Sunda that sher tweaked her right foot early in the second set of a loss to Petro Gazz.
"Sobrang pwersa ko rin noong bumwelo ako noong game namin as in bumigay, lumabas ang buto ko pero naibalik naman,” said the former National University stalwart, who has a recurring back injury.
“Alam mo ‘yung feeling na kinabahan ka kasi akala ko injury na naman sa likod, sa tuhod.”
With Motolite in a share of second place with a 5-2 win-loss record, Pablo is going to miss their last first-round match against Choco Mucho on Sunday. But she knows that the team is in good hands with wing spikers Tots Carlos, Isa Molde and Bern Flora filling in her void.
