MOTOLITE made short work of BaliPure, 25-9, 25-20, 25-19, for its second straight win in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Open Conference on Sunday at the Arena in San Juan City.

Wing spikers Myla Pablo and Isa Molde powered Motolite’s balanced attack to send the Water Defenders crashing back to earth coming from a breakthrough win that ended the franchise’s 12-game losing streak.

Pablo sustained her fine play leading Motolite with 12 points. Molde had nine markers. Aie Gannaban contributed seven points, while Tots Carlos added six markers all coming from attacks including 10 digs.

Fil-Am setter Iris Tolenada, who was celebrating her 28th birthday, distributed the offensive wealth with 17 excellent sets on top of four markers, while libero Ayel Estranero took care of the floor with 11 digs and nine excellent receptions.

It was Motolite’s first winning streak in the conference improving to 2-1 win-loss record at joint third place with idle Choco Mucho.

“It feels good to win two games in a row even though we still have to work on a few things,” said Motolite head coach Godfrey Okumu. “Sometimes we lead and then we let the opponents come and close in and then we get the sense of urgency which is not necessary.“

BaliPure gave up 31 errors failing to sustain its first win over Air Force last week.

Grazielle Bombita was the lone Water Defender to reach double figures with 11 points as they slid to 1-3 reeling at seventh place.
