MOTOLITE continued to display its fine form as it grounded Air Force, 25-14, 25-18, 25-23, for its third straight victory in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Open Conference on Wednesday at the Arena in San Juan City.

The troika of wing spikers Myla Pablo, Tots Carlos and Isa Molde powered Motolite to keep the Lady Jet Spikers winless in four games, prevailing in just an hour and 19 minutes.

Pablo, once again, led the charge for her young team nailing 14 kills to finish with 15 points to beat her former squad Air Force, which represented Pocari Sweat last season.

Carlos fired 14 points off eight spikes, three blocks and as many as aces including eight excellent receptions, while Molde had 10 markers, highlighted with the match-winning spike and also added 10 digs.

Setter Iris Tolenada also paced the team with 17 excellent sets and six markers as Motolite improved to 3-1 win-loss record, tallying the franchise longest winning streak so far in three outings since joining last conference.

“The first and second sets were convincing. The third set, we started slow,” said Motolite head coach Godfrey Okumu. “We seemed to be making effort in things that we supposed to do effortlessly. We were trying to make a lot of effort, using a lot of energy in the third set.“

After dominating the first two sets, Motolite needed to fight its way back from a 9-15 deficit in the third set Carlos and Pablo led the rally to turn the tables and held a 23-21 breather only for Javen Sabas and Antipuesto to tie it but Carlos and Molde came to the rescue to complete the three-set victory.
