ISA Molde was a notable absentee in Choco Mucho’s conference-opening 25-17, 25-23, 25-20 sweep of Akari on Saturday.
The 27-year-old wing spiker revealed that a sudden health issue at the start of the year forced her to step away from all volleyball-related activities.

Molde detailed the brief but alarming timeline on her TikTok page, sharing that she was diagnosed with acute appendicitis just a day before she was scheduled to fly out with the Flying Titans for their Thailand training camp.
On January 15, Molde went to VRP Medical Center, where she initially underwent urinalysis and blood tests that returned normal results.
A subsequent CT scan, however, revealed acute appendicitis.

She informed the team early the following morning that she would be unable to travel with them for the final stretch of their preparations for the All-Filipino Conference.
That same evening, Molde underwent surgery and was discharged just two days later.
Despite the surgery, Molde was already back with the team on game day, watching from the sidelines alongside Maddie Madayag, who is also recovering from an undisclosed fitness issue.
In her absence, Choco Mucho has covered the outside hitter position with team captain Des Cheng and the newly reunited power duo of Sisi Rondina and Eya Laure.
