MJ Phillips will make her eagerly awaited return to the Petro Gazz Angels just in time for the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.

The two-time PVL champion side revealed Phillips' homecoming on Wednesday morning — one that restores a sense of familiarity in the midst of several offseason changes to the team.

"MJ is coming home! The two-time PVL Best Middle Blocker is back to refuel the Angels," the club wrote.

Phillips reached new highs in her pro career last year as the lone Filipina selected in the Korean Volleyball League's (KOVO) Asian Quota Draft, where she was chosen fifth overall by the Gwangju AI Peppers.
The top defender bagged two top blocker plums in the 2022 Reinforced and 2023 All-Filipino tilts prior to her Korea stint.
And as her absence from Petro Gazz saw two dismal conferences outside the Final Four, Phillips' PVL comeback couldn't be more timely.
She is set to join Fil-American power hitter Brooke Van Sickle under the club's new Japanese mentor Koji Tsuzurabara in refueling the Angels' title bid when the PVL kicks off on February 20.
