ONE of the league’s worst-kept secrets is out.
Mich Morente will be joining Creamline for the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference.
The 30-year-old journeywoman is onto her fourth PVL team after a series of brief stints with Perlas Spikers and champion clubs PLDT and Petro Gazz.
“Para matapos na ang haka-haka, the Creamline Cool Smashers have a new source of good vibes ngayong Reinforced Conference,” the club wrote on Saturday, three days before the new season begins.
“Michelle Morente is here, at ready na siya to Ignite the Good Vibes!”
Making her Cool Smashers sweeter is the fact that she’ll be forging a few special reunions with some familiar faces in her life and career.
Morente gets the chance to suit up with her partner of six years in Pangs Panaga, both of whom were former Angels.
Once a Lady Eagle, she’ll also share the same side of the court exactly a decade later with her UAAP Season 77 champion teammates Alyssa Valdez, Ella de Jesus, Denden Lazaro-Revilla, Bea de Leon and Jia de Guzman.
Together, they were at the core of Ateneo’s ‘heartstrong’ era under Thai mentor Tai Bundit who remains part of the Rebisco stable as Criss Cross head coach in Spikers’ Turf.
Morente, who has played opposite for most of her career since college, will add depth to the Creamline’s already-stacked array of scorers along with the likes of Michele Gumabao and the returning Tots Carlos.
Her Creamline debut could come as early as Oct. 11 in a rematch of last year’s Reinforced Conference finals against Akari at the City of Dasmariñas Arena.
