STA. ROSA — Creamline head coach Sherwin Meneses was a notable absentee on the sidelines during the Cool Smashers’ clash with Farm Fresh in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at the City of Santa Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex.
The multi-titled mentor revealed he was rushed to the hospital after falling ill Monday night.
“May sakit ako. Na-admit ako last night,” Meneses told SPIN.ph in a message shortly as the game began.
Any attempt to rejoin the team for the match proved impractical, with the veteran coach opting to prioritize his recovery.
“Until now, naka-confine ako,” he added.
Creamline entered the contest looking to secure a qualifying round berth for the second straight game after missing its first opportunity in a four-set setback to Akari last Thursday.
Stepping in to steer the team was deputy coach Karlo Santos, a long-time member of the Cool Smashers’ coaching staff.
