Safe to say, it has long been an exclusive group of power hitters featuring champions and veterans anew.

SPIN.ph breaks down other notable facts and figures about every player to have ever hit the 30-point benchmark over the last eight years.

The firsts to ever do it

Jovy Prado became the first local PVL player ever to drop 30 against the Perlas Spikers in the league’s inaugural Reinforced Conference in 2017.

Her benchmark for the defunct Power Smashers was 31 points.

One conference later, Creamline captain Alyssa Valdez set a new local single-game scoring record that would stand for seven years.

The ‘Phenom’ fired 37 points past eventual PVL champion Balipure, and would hit 30 again in the same conference versus then-defending champion Pocari Sweat.

Her third 30-piece came a year later in the 2018 Open Conference where she scored 32 against Ateneo-Motolite.

Five more locals went on to drop 30 in the league’s semi-pro era led by Kat Tolentino, who also became the first player to hit 30 thrice in a single PVL conference.

The Choco Mucho winger reached that benchmark against Pacific Town-Army (30), Motolite (33) and Chef’s Classics (36).

    Other semi-pro 30-point scorers include Pocari Sweat’s Myla Pablo (30 twice), UST’s Milena Alessandrini (31), Balipure’s Graze Bombita (31) and Ateneo’s Faith Nisperos (35).

    From seven to eleven

Seven players had 30-pieces in the semi-pro era. That number rose to 11 in the pro era from 2021 onwards, including Tolentino who remains the only player to have hit 30 in both eras of the league.

The single-game pro scoring record was first set by Dindin Santiago-Manabat twice for Chery Tiggo at 32 points.

She did it twice in the 2021 and 2022 Open Conferences.

The record number went a point up a year later when Sisi Rondina scored 33 against Creamline in the 2023 Second All-Filipino Conference, one that also happens to be Choco Mucho’s first franchise win over their sister team.

Rondina also shares the all-time record with Tolentino, Farm Fresh’s Trisha Tubu and PLDT’s Savi Davison for the most 30-point games by a local in PVL history with four.

She scored 31 in the other three instances she eclipsed the 30-point mark.

Meanwhile, Tubu had at least one 30-point game over a three-conference stretch starting from the 2023 Second All-Filipino Conference to the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference — similar to two-time PVL MVP Brooke Van Sickle.

Davison did the same over a two-conference stretch, even completing a hat-trick of 30-point games in the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference alone.

Finally in 2024, the all-time single game scoring record, pro or semi-pro, was reset by Creamline’s Tots Carlos when she scored 38 in a five-set comeback over Cignal in the 2024 All-Filipino Conference.

The rest of the 30-point club members in the PVL’s pro era are Grethcel Soltones (Petro Gazz), Jolina dela Cruz (F2 Logistics), Eli Soyud (Akari) and now Santos in her first conference with Cignal.

    Imports break through

A whopping total of 21 foreign guest players eclipsed the 30-point mark since the PVL’s inception in 2017.

In the semi-pro era, Perlas’ Rupia Inck was the first to do it when she scored 30 against Air Force in the inaugural PVL conference.

It was only to be broken shortly by Pocari’s Michelle Strizak who scored 40, also against Air Force.

Banko Perlas’ Kia Bright would then grab the PVL’s all-time single-game scoring record for four years when she scored 41 against PayMaya in 2018.

During that two-year semi-pro run, it was PayMaya’s Tess Rountree who had the most 30-point games with four.

Strizak and Bright had three each.

The rest of the PVL’s semi-pro 30-point scorers are the late Janisa Johnson (Balipure-NU), Olena Lymareva-Flink (Petro Gazz and Pacific Town-Army), Macy Ubben (Iriga City-Navy), Jutarat Montripila (Banko Perlas), Wilma Salas (Petro Gazz) and Channon Thompson (Motolite).

What was once a rarity became routinary come the league’s pro era.

For starters, PLDT’s Elena Samoilenko and Cignal’s MJ Perez each had a record seven 30-point games.

Perez did it in just one conference with Cignal.

Moreover, Akari’s Oly Okaro scored at least 30 five times in her one and only PVL stint to date.

Ex-Akari import Prisilla Rivera also once held the benchmark for two years when she dropped 44 on Choco Mucho in 2022.

Another import who did it five times and carries the most weight out of any PVL player to date is no other than Capital1’s Russian ace Marina Tushova.

Not only did she break the all-time single-game scoring record thrice, scoring 45 against Choco Mucho and 49 against Nxled, but Tushova became the first and only PVL player to hit 50 against Cignal, albeit in a loss, in the 2024 Reinforced Conference quarterfinals.

Completing the 30-point pro scorers list are Odina Aliyeva (Choco Mucho), Lindsey Vander Weide (Petro Gazz), Asaka Tamaru (Kurashiki), Kath Bell (Chery Tiggo), Erica Staunton (Creamline) and Warisara Seetaloed (Est Cola).
