"Power up to the max! Bravely charging into the pros is the talented libero from Far Eastern University, Maxine Juangco! Her MAXimum effort on the defensive end will elevate the Akari Chargers to another level this season. Welcome to Chargers ground, Max," the Chargers wrote on Monday afternoon.

Juangco played two seasons with the Lady Tamaraws with contrasting results. In Season 84, FEU finished dead-last in the elimination round with a 1-13 (win-loss) record.
It was a forgettable result for the Lady Tams, but a good one for Juangco who was adjudged the league's third-best digger with four digs per set.
Later that year, her defensive prowess proved vital to FEU's huge turnaround from cellar-dwellers to Final Four contenders. Their 6-8 prelims record just fell short of a semis spot as the Lady Tamaraws settled for a top five finish.
The young Juangco will team up with a veteran libero in Bang Pineda to boost Akari's charge in the season-opening All-Filipino Conference on February 20.
