MERALCO completed the semifinal cast with an easy 25-11, 25-12, 25-14 win over Fourbees-Perpetual on Sunday in the Shakey’s V-League Season 12 Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
Maica Morada scored 17 points as the Power Spikers improved their win-loss record to 3-3 and joined PLDT (7-0), Army (6-1) and Cagayan Valley (5-2) in the round of four.
“Eto ang resulta ng pag-eensayo namin for the past week,” said Meralco coach Brian Esquibel, who made the most out of the league’s nine-day break to give way to the Asian Under 23 Women’s Championship.
“Gumana ang combination attacks namin at depensa. Sana magtuluy-tuloy na.”
The Power Spikers, who went winless in last year’s Foreign Reinforced Conference, have one more elimination-round match against winless Coast Guard on Tuesday.
Navy is in the fifth spot with a 3-4 win-loss card, but Meralco is assured of the semifinal spot even if it loses to Coast Guard due to a higher ranking point.
Jamela Suyat scored 12 points for Fourbess-Perpetual, finishes the tournament in sixth spot at 2-5.
