ALAS Pilipinas Women players have been given the green light to return to their mother teams by the end of the FIVB national team period on Oct. 15.

This is expected to align with the start of the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference, set to run from October to November just before the 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in December in Thailand.

A total of 17 PVL players, current and incoming, were lent to the national team over the last two months.

Out of the 12 teams, 10 of them had at least one less Alas player in their respective rosters for the recently-concluded 2025 PVL on Tour.

The four preseason semifinalists in PLDT, Chery Tiggo, Creamline and Cignal still won’t have their Alas players on hand for the week-long Invitational Conference starting Aug. 21.

Here’s a full breakdown of the Alas players set to return to each PVL team in two months’ time.

AKARI (3): Mars Alba, Justine Jazareno, Fifi Sharma

The Chargers have the most national team players in the current Alas pool with three.

A trifecta of ex-La Salle stars in Fifi Sharma, Justine Jazareno and incoming setter Mars Alba skipped preseason duties to compete for the national team.

Both mainstays for Alas Women, Sharma has been part of every Alas team so far either as part of the final 14 or an occasional reserve.

But unlike Sharma, Alba continues to fulfill her Alas duties amid her delayed Akari debut since her shock departure from Choco Mucho in June.

Meanwhile, Jazareno earned her first major individual award in the international stage during Leg 2 of the 5th SEA V.League where she was named best libero.

CAPITAL1 (2): Bella Belen, Leila Cruz

Capital1 has two national team players onboard despite being a cellar-dweller in the PVL for the most part of its year-long league run.

Set to bolster the rebuilding Solar Spikers are last year’s No. 2 draft pick in Leila Cruz and this year’s first overall pick in Bella Belen.

While Cruz has seen action for Capital1 over the last year, the three-time UAAP MVP’s waiting game for her PVL debut has now been stretched to three months.

Belen, however, will have to wait for at least two more before suiting up for the yellow and blue and bringing her championship pedigree to her Alas head coach Jorge Souza de Brito’s young squad.

CHOCO MUCHO (2): Tia Andaya, Maddie Madayag

A heavily undermanned Choco Mucho side in need of more reinforcements can breathe a sigh of relief ahead of the Reinforced Conference later this year.

Former PVL best middle blocker and team captain Maddie Madayag is set to don purple again following the conclusion of her first international stint with the Kurobe AquaFairies in the Japan SV.League.

With Alba no longer a Flying Titan, the team will soon welcome its seventh overall pick in 24-year-old Fil-American setter Tia Andaya to the mix.

Having played for Alas in the 2025 VTV Cup, Andaya is expected to bring foreign flair to the Flying Titans with years of playing experience in the United States, Albania and Romania under her belt.

CIGNAL (2): Vanie Gandler, Dawn Macandili-Catindig

A retooled Cignal side is also eager to bring back two of its mainstays in Vanie Gandler and captain Dawn Macandili-Catindig.

Gandler has been a fixture in every Alas tournament so far and will carry her vast experience back to an HD Spikers side that now features the likes of Erika Santos, Tin Tiamzon and Erin Pangilinan among others.

The former best libero’s void in Cignal has also been filled by two promising floor generals in Buding Duremdes and free-agent signing Pearl Denura.

But in their absences, Cignal has now missed the podium for the second straight campaign after finishing fourth in the PVL on Tour.

Petro Gazz took the biggest hit from the national team period as it lent its Fil-American MVP duo in Brooke Van Sickle and MJ Phillips.

Shortly after the Angels’ historic All-Filipino Conference title win in April, BVS and MJ were called up to train with Alas even as their federation shift requests continue to hang in the balance.

They were able to debut for Alas in the 2025 VTV Cup along with Andaya.

The Angels slid to ninth place in the PVL on Tour, their first campaign since their championship win which also saw head coach Koji Tsuzurabara leave the team for good.

PLDT (2): Alleiah Malaluan, Dell Palomata

The newly-crowned PVL on Tour champions were two players down in their historic preseason title run.

PLDT missed the services of its veteran middle blocker Dell Palomata, a gap aptly filled by the preseason’s best middle blocker in Majoy Baron and finals MVP Mika Reyes.

In her rare time off from PVL duties, Palomata won her first international award as the top defender in Alas’ silver-medal run in the 2025 AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup.

Also expected to suit up in red once the national team period ends is PLDT’s ninth overall pick and former UAAP champion Alleiah Malaluan to bolster the team’s offense along with the likes of Savi Davison, Kianna Dy, Kiesha Bedonia and Jovy Prado.

CREAMLINE (1): Jia de Guzman

Two years since heading to Japan, Creamline is about to have its eight-time PVL best setter back.

Alas Women captain Jia de Guzman confirmed her forthcoming Cool Smashers comeback in June upon the conclusion of her two-year stint with Denso Airybees in the Japan SV.League.

She is believed to re-take the lead playmaker role from Kyle Negrito, who has won four best setter awards in the two-year stretch without de Guzman.

Negrito also orchestrated Creamline’s Grand Slam win in 2024 where they amassed their record 10th PVL championship.

CHERY TIGGO (1): Jen Nierva

Following a breakthrough finals appearance, Chery Tiggo will bring back one of its key defensive pieces in Jen Nierva.

The 25-year-old libero didn’t see action for the most part in Alas’ recent tournaments but was still part of the national team pool that trained for the last three months.

Sophomore libero Karen Verdeflor and veteran defender Anngela Nunag took over Nierva’s role in the preseason tournament.

GALERIES TOWER (1): Julia Coronel

Julia Coronel was a fixture in last year’s national team competitions for Alas but has yet to compete in 2025.

Like Nierva, the former La Salle playmaker still took part in the Nationals’ training sessions to prepare for their recent string of regional tournaments.

Taking over the baton for the Highrisers were their newest acquisition in Ivy Perez and mainstay Fhen Emnas.

ZUS COFFEE (1): Thea Gagate

Multi-awarded middle blocker Thea Gagate was the only piece from ZUS Coffee’s revamped core that missed out on the preseason tournament.

Having played in Alas’ silver-medal Nations Cup run, Gagate was struck by a late injury bug during the Nationals’ last competition.

The 6-foot-2 defender suffered a minor ankle injury shortly before the second leg of the 5th SEA V.League in Vietnam, forcing a late change for Alas that saw Madayag take her place in the final roster.
