CAGAYAN Valley tries to cap a perfect season when it goes for the Shakey’s V-League Season 10 Open Conference title against Smart-Maynilad Sunday at The Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Rising Suns go for the historic feat at 4 p.m. in Game 2 of their best-of-three title series with the Net Spikers.
No team in V-League history since its inception in 2004 has won a championship with an immaculate record.
And given the chance to achieve the rare feat, the Lady Rising Suns vow to go for it and end the title series.
“We have a chance to write history on Sunday, so we might as well go for it,” said Cagayan Valley coach Nes Pamilar.
“Kailangan mas lalo pa mag-trabaho. Hindi kami puweded mag-pahinga,” he added.
The Lady Rising Suns stretched their amazing win to 15 Tuesday following a thrilling 26-24, 25-11, 23-25, 11-25, 15-12 victory in Game 1 of the Finals.
The embattled Smart-Maynilad meanwhile, expects star player Alyssa Valdez to suit up despite hurting her right shoulder in the series opener following a collision with teammate Maru Banaticla.

Game 2 of the series will be aired live over GMA News TV Channel 11, according to the organizing Sports Vision.
Game 3 if necessary is set on Oct. 27.
Meanwhile, Philippine Army also hopes to end its own best-of-three series against Philippine Air Force in the battle for third when the two teams tangle anew in the first game at 2 p.m.
