KYLE Negrito is making her return to the national team scene just as Alas Pilipinas Women endured another wave of withdrawals from its UAAP core.
PNVF president Tony Boy Liao first confirmed to SPIN.ph that the Creamline playmaker has joined the Alas Women pool, following the withdrawal of National University's champion quartet Vange Alinsug, Arah Panique, Celine Marsh and Shaira Jardio.

Liao bared that the NU quartet begged off from the pool to attend to their make-up classes, prioritizing their academic responsibilities for the meantime.

Negrito’s addition gives Alas Women an experienced hand at setter amid the team’s constant roster reshuffle ahead of the 2026 AVC Women’s Cup in Candon City from June 6 to 14.
The 26-year-old setter is among the most decorated playmakers in the PVL, owning three best setter awards and nine championships with Creamline.
She also brings prior national team experience, having previously represented the country in most notably the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam in 2022.
Apart from her Creamline teammates Alyssa Valdez and Kyla Atienza, Negrito also joins a setter pool that currently includes FEU’s Tin Ubaldo, ZUS Coffee’s Cloanne Mondonedo, Letran’s Natalie Estreller, and Nxled’s Jules Tolentino.

Her inclusion comes at a crucial point for Alas Women, which continues to navigate a turbulent buildup marked by player withdrawals, rejections, and lineup changes just weeks before the AVC Women’s Cup.
Meanwhile, Myla Pablo has also yet to be cleared by the Nxled management to join Alas Women, with talks still ongoing to have the former PVL MVP onboard.
