KOBE Shinwa outside hitter Nagisa Komatsuda emerged as the top scorer and spiker by the end of the 2025 PVL Invitational preliminary round.

Komatsuda, who just turned 20 five days ago, was the only player to surpass the 100-point mark in prelims play with 104 points after five matches (20.8 points per game).

She also had the highest spiking success rate in the six-team field at 39.26 percent along with captain Sakura Furuta who bested the playmaking pack with 5.84 excellent sets per set.
Japanese young guns Arisu Ishikawa was the third top spiker (38.57 percent) and fourth top receiver (42.57 percent), while Rino Hirami landed third in digs (2.68 digs per set).
Ahead of Kobe Shinwa’s PVL Finals debut on Sunday, Komatsuda became the 39th member of the league’s 30-point club after dropping 31 markers in their five-set reverse-sweep win over Chery Tiggo.
Her soon-to-be title rival Savi Davison ranked second in spiking (38.57 percent), third in scoring (94 points), sixth in blocking (0.50 blocks per set) and seventh in receiving (30 percent) despite sitting out PLDT’s Invitational debut win against Creamline.

Davison’s champion teammates Kath Arado and Majoy Baron were also among the top five of their respective skill departments.
The preseason’s best libero led the league in digs (5.00 digs per set) and ranked second in receptions (55.56 percent), while the preseason’s best middle blocker finished third with 0.56 blocks per set.
Creamline’s Pangs Panaga is also on track for a seventh best middle blocker plum, leading the blocking department by a mile with 0.91 blocks per set ahead of ZUS Coffee rookie Riza Nogales (0.59).
Kyle Negrito came in second in setting with 5.00 excellent sets per set, just ahead of fellow ace playmakers in PLDT’s Kim Fajardo (4.67) and Cignal’s Gel Cayuna (4.15).

Proving to be a triple-double machine in this tournament, Jema Galanza was the second leading scorer in the field with 99 points. She was also third in receiving (45 percent), fifth in digging (2.36) and seventh in spiking (30.85 percent).
After missing Chery Tiggo’s first three games, returning Alas Pilipinas libero Jen Nierva delivered the goods on floor defense as she still led the field in receptions (62.38 percent) and came in second in digs (3.65).
