BANKO turned back Choco Mucho, 25-18, 25-20, 25-23, for its second straight victory in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Season 3 Open Conference on Wednesday at the Arena in San Juan City.
Kathy Bersola led a balanced attack with 10 kills and five blocks for a game-high 15 points. Dzi Gervacio added 13 points, all coming from attacks, laced with 13 digs and seven excellent receptions for the Perlas Spikers.
Skipper Nicole Tiamzon contributed 11 points while Sue Roces added eight markers.
“Sabay-sabay lahat maganda ang laro mapa-set, block at palo,” said Tiamzon after the Perlas Spikers scored on 51 spikes compared to the Flying Titans' 40 attacks."Laking bagay [na] lahat nag-contribute kada ikot."
Jem Ferrer was also instrumental dishing out 22 excellent sets and had five points, highlighted by the match-clinching dropball as BanKo improved to 4-2 win-loss.
The Perlas Spikers also shackled Choco Mucho’s top scorer Kat Tolentino, holding her to only eight points. Maddie Madayag was the lone bright spot for the Flying Titans with 15 points as they dropped to 2-2 card.
“We worked hard for it, binantayan talaga namin si Kay kasi siya No. 1 scorer ng team,” Tiamzon said.
