    Second bronze medal of the season for BaliPure as it sweeps UST Tigresses in V-League

    BALI Pure bagged the bronze medal, completing a sweep of University of Santo Tomas in the battle of third place with a 25-23, 25-19, 25-11 victory on Monday in the Shakey's V-League Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena.

    American import Kate Morrell led the Purest Water Defenders, who also bagged bronze in the Open Conference.

    Setter and team captain Kaylee Manns had 56 of the team’s 57 excellent sets, and all but one player fielded registered at least a point for Bali Pure.

    “This game we played a lot more solid I just felt we had the energy and we were the aggressor the whole game and I think that was pretty obvious,” said Manns, whose team bowed to UST in the elims.

    “But all the credit to UST for taking one (game) away from us in the beginning of the conference but we proved that we progressed and gotten better,” she added.

    For the American playmaker, in her third stint in the Philippines, is pleased with the bronze medal.

    “I feel like we ended the season on a good note, you know on a win, everybody was playing well, everybody was happy and that’s the most important,” she said.

    EJ Laure scored 14 points and Sisi Rondina added 10 for UST.
