AMERICAN import Kate Morrell led the way as Bali Pure bested Alyssa Valdez-led Bureau of Customs, 25-19, 25-18, 25-21, on Saturday in the opener of the best-of-three semifinals of the Shakey's V-League Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Morrell scored 20 points to push the Water Defenders to a step closer to the finals.
"I'm excited, hopefully we can finish this in two, I think we have a good momentum," said Morrell.
Valdez and Thai import Kanjana Kuthaisong pushed BoC on top, 13-10, before Bali Pure scored six straight points capped by a service ace by Ella de Jesus and the Water Defenders never looked back.
Amy Ahomiro added 13 points for Bali Pure.
Valdez finished with 15 points, while Kuthaisong added 10 for Customs.
The second match is set on Monday.
