KAT Tolentino bared how she had to deal with the ‘worst pain’ following a misdiagnosis which resulted to a ruptured appendix and further health complications.
Choco Mucho’s Fil-Canadian star underwent emergency surgery and was confined in a hospital a week before her 30th birthday on Monday.

Tolentino wrote a candid reflection on how she was ‘protected from the worst’ in her recent health battle where ‘everything that could go wrong went wrong.’
“This was not how I wanted my 30th birthday to go, but maybe it was an experience God knew I needed. It’s funny saying that because why would He want this for me,” Tolentino wrote.

“This was probably the worst pain I’ve experienced. I had a fever for almost a week, and went to the ER twice because my condition was misdiagnosed. On top of that, there were also some other complications that came up. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. But because of God’s Grace he still protected me from the worse.”

Her decorated UAAP career and eventual pro stint with the Flying Titans were both injury-plagued, to say the least.
Tolentino suffered three ACL injuries and a lingering auditory problem resulting to balance issues and partial deafness in her left ear.
In every injury setback she had to go through, let alone this one, a strong anchor of hope has kept Tolentino standing strong in the PVL.
“My mindset with every setback has always been ‘Ok, how can I comeback from this? How can I become stronger? When can I start again?’ But for the first time, the first thought that came into my head was ‘Thank God, I’m alive,’” Tolentino said.
“The timing of it all is something that is written by Him. I was discharged from the hospital the day before my birthday. He puts me through hardships, but he also gives me moments of hope and people to carry me through it.
“Thank you Lord for another year really hits differently this birthday.”
