CAPITAL1 is becoming increasingly familiar territory for Alas Pilipinas stars.
The Solar Spikers added another former national team standout to their growing stable on Thursday, bringing in Julia Coronel just a day after the 24-year-old setter parted ways with Galeries Tower.

Coronel’s arrival gives Capital1 a quartet of players with Alas experience, joining franchise player Bella Belen and fellow newcomers Vanie Gandler and Erika Santos.
And the group will continue to be led by a mentor who knows them well.
Jorge Souza de Brito remains at the helm, continuing as Solar Spikers’ head coach after previously calling the shots for the national team.

For Coronel, the move also marks a fresh chapter in her career after her arc as a Highriser came to a close.
The former La Salle captain was the No. 3 overall pick in the PVL Draft and established herself as one of the country’s notable young setters before earning a place in the Alas program.
She now adds another layer to Capital1’s playmaking corps, where she joins Jas Nabor and Jaja Maraguinot.
With four Alas players now on the roster, Capital1 has assembled a group with significant national team experience, as it prepares for the new campaign.
The Solar Spikers will have the honor of raising the curtains on the PVL’s 10-year celebrations, facing Choco Mucho in the opening game on October 10 at the SM Seaside Arena in Cebu.
