TACLOBAN cruised to its second straight win in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference, defeating Adamson-Akari, 25-21, 25-12, 25-22, on Sunday at The Arena in San Juan.
Skipper Jovielyn Prado had 18 points and 10 digs as the Fighting Warays improved to 2-1.
“‘Yung dalawang araw na pinractice namin medyo nakukuha na naman ang sistema eh, ang sabi ko lang kailangan magtuluy-tuloy lang kasi marami kaming lapses noong nakaraan sa depensa talaga,” said Tacloban coach Nes Pamilar.
Heather Guino-o scored 13 and Mary Anne Esguerra added 10 markers for Tacloban, which had 11 blocks in the one hour and 18-minute match.
“Unang-una kapag organized ang blocking namin nagkakaroon kami ng floor defense so medyo maganda ang blocking so kapag na touch namin nakasunod agad ang floor defense namin,” said Pamilar.
Chiara Permentilla scored 11 points is Adamson-Akari’s first match.
Adamson top hitter Eli Soyud is out six to eight weeks due to a meniscus tear.
