JOVELYN Gonzaga says she plays without fear even as she returns from a serious knee ligament injury.
Dubbed the ‘Bionic Ilongga,’ Gonzaga is back from an ACL injury sustained while playing for Cignal in the Philippine Superliga two years ago.
She is tempering expectations amid the pressure to deliver for Army, which is seeing action in the Premier Volleyball League for the first time.
“Wala akong fear ngayon na tumalon at maglaro,” said Gonzaga, who had eight points and six excellent receptions as Pacific Town Army defeated BaliPure in the PVL Reinforced Conference opener
The national team mainstay is not in a rush to regain top form, but knows she has to make a significant contribution on offense.
“So far kasi first game pa lang assessment pa lang kung ano yung dapat iimprove,” Gonzaga said.
