FAR Eastern University downed University of Santo Tomas, 25-16, 25-23, 25-17, on Saturday to bag the bronze medal in the V-League Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
Rainforcements Jovelyn Gonzaga and Honey Royse Tubino led FEU with 15 and 12 points, respectively, while mainstay Bernadeth Pons also had 12 markers in the match that lasted an hour and 29 minutes.
FEU assistant coach Arielito Canlas said he was pleased with the players’ performance as they prepare for the UAAP season opening in February next year.
"Malaking morale booster ito kahit third place lang iba pa rin 'yung tumapos ka ng liga ng panalo," said Canlas.
"Nag practice kami the whole week ng no pressure kaya ngayon sa game sabi ko sa kanila parang practice lang, no pressure."
FEU skipper Remy Palma scored eight points, while Jerrili Malabanan had six.
UST team captain Pam Lastimosa and EJ Laure scored 10 points apiece.
