AFTER a runner-up finish in the PVL Reinforced Conference, ZUS Coffee now finds itself in a difficult position, languishing at the bottom of the standings in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
The Thunderbelles absorbed another setback on Thursday after falling to Cignal, dropping to a 1-6 record as they continue to search for answers with the qualifying round fast approaching.
Despite the skid, opposite spiker Jovelyn Gonzaga and the team remains focused on treating the stretch as part of its learning process.

“Actually, parang learning stage pa lang ng team,” Gonzaga told the SPIN.ph.
“Hindi na puwedeng papagalitan pa namin ang morale ng bawat isa. Kada training at bawat game, kailangan may natututunan at may naku-collect,” she added.
The veteran opposite spiker added that while the wins have yet to follow, the team continues to show resilience on the court.
“So far kahit natatalo kami, bumabalik kami at lumalaban. Hindi man namin masustain, pero at least nakikita namin na may way. Slowly, hindi na kami kumakapit doon sa mali,” Gonzaga explained.
“Importante rin yung mental state namin na hindi kami basta sumusuko. Yun yung reason kung bakit nakikita namin yung improvement.”
Part of the challenge for Zus Coffee has been adjusting to life in an all-Filipino conference after leaning on the production of its import Anna DeBeer during its runner-up finish in the Reinforced Conference.
Still, the Thunderbelles are now focused on maximizing the pieces currently on their roster while gradually filling the gaps left behind.
“Ito na yung line-up namin, ito na yung team namin, kaya kailangan naming i-improve yung journey namin at mag-work out kung ano pa yung pupunan,” the veteran said.
