PETRO Gazz was determined to get on the winning track after dropping its opener, and Jonah Sabete had no doubt the Angels were going to bounce back quick.
They faced a Choco Mucho squad that has not won against them since the PVL Invitational last year and the Angels asserted their mastery of the Flying Titans on Thursday, scoring a 25-18, 25-20, 25-21 victory in the All-Filipino conference.

"Actually ayaw namin matalo talaga. Dinedicate din namin kay coach talaga yung game na 'to syempre," Sabete said.
"Knowing naman na hindi pa nanalo Choco Mucho sa amin, pinangatawanan namin yun ... Kung makakuha man ng set basta hindi talaga maka-isa sa amin yung Choco [Mucho]," she said.
The teams have met four times since 2019 with the Angels leading 3-1.

Two-time PVL Reinforced Conference champion, Petro Gazz looks to bag its first All-Filipino title and Sabete is confident with new coach in Oliver Almadro, they have a solid chanceeven with the departure of Myla Pablo (F2 Logistics) and Bang Pineda (Akari).
"Petro Gazz, kami pa rin ito eh. Syempre yung nais ni coach, kung ano lang yung idadagdag niya, in-aaccept namin. And syempre, nasa amin na kung paano namin idedeliver sa game talaga," she said.
Almadro has yet to win a crown in the pro league, and is hoping the partnership with Petro Gazz would yield results.
"Syempre champion team sila, ako wala pa, so tinutulungan nila ako. Malay mo, sila magpadala sa akin sa championship. Sila yung makatulong sa akin," he said.
The Angels pulled off a dramatic 17-5 run in the opening set that turned an 8-13 deficit into a 25-18 first set win, before running away with a sweep to tie Choco Mucho with a 1-1 slate in the standings.
Veteran Aiza Maizo-Pontillas delivered a vintage performance with 19 points and 14 digs while Gretchel Soltones had 11 markers and 13 receptions. Sabete, on her part, delivered crucial blows including the game-winning off-the-block hit for a nine-point performance.
Petro Gazz will have a week-long break before it faces winless Cignal on February 18 at PhilSports Arena.
