JOLINA Dela Cruz suffered an injury in his right leg in F2 Logistics' final prelims match against PLDT on Thursday night in the PVL All-Filipino Conference.
As PLDT led 12-10 in the second set, Dela Cruz appeared to have twisted her right leg after a failed dig attempt and immediately slumped to the floor, grimacing in pain.
The F2 rookie was stretchered off and didn’t return to the game nor the bench as the Cargo Movers suffered a 21-25, 25-27, 23-25 loss to semis-seeking PLDT.
While the game had no bearing on the Cargo Movers, Savannah Davison’s game-high 22 points narrowly kept PLDT in the Final Four hunt.
A PLDT win over fellow fifth-seed Petro Gazz (6-4) together with a Cignal (7-3) loss to Gerflor in five days’ time will give it a shot at the last semis berth.
F2 Logistics ended the conference at 4-7 after a fiifth straight loss.
Bar an injury-ridden ending, Dela Cruz had a rookie conference to remember upon posting a 30-point career-high breakout game versus Cignal.
Dela Cruz and Ivy Lacsina were left with big shoes to fill in the absence of injured Kianna Dy (knee), but their best efforts fell short of leading F2 to a top four prelims finish.
The Cargo Movers refused to speak to mediamen about Dela Cruz’ injury status after the game.
