ATENEO moved closer to a sweep of the quarterfinals as it whipped Far Eastern University, 25-19, 25-14, 25-18, on Saturday in the V-League Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
Alyssa Valdez scored 15 points, Jhoanna Maraguinot added 11, Amy Ahomiro chipped in with nine and Kim Gequillana had six for Ateneo.
The Lady Eagles needed an hour and 21 minutes improve their win-loss record in the quarterfinals to 6-0.
“We thought talaga FEU played well,” said Valdez. “Their defense, their spikes, serves, they really gave us a good fight.”
Guest player Jovelyn Gonzaga had 11 points for FEU, which dropped to 4-2.
