COACH Jerry Yee says there is still time to figure things out, and he is counting on a late surge to save winless Petro Gazz in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.
The Angels at 0-3 are in the bottom of the eight team standings, but Yee stressed that the tournament format allows them time to catch up with the leaders once they solve their problems.
The top two teams after the first round earn outright semifinal berths and the six other teams, including the cellar dwellers, will go on to play in the second round for the remaining semis spots.
“May panic within ourselves kung ano ang problema so inaalam natin kung anong problema, ‘yun lang,” said Yee.
“Pero ‘yun nga, dahil sa format, mayroon naman tayong inaasahang kapag naayos natin pwede pa ring mag-all the way,” he added.
Yee talked about making adjustments but did not mention any roster changes.
Ukrainian import Anastasiia Trach and Bosnian reinforcement Kadi Kullerkann have been leading the team that also has former La Salle standouts Stephanie Mercado, Wensh Tiu, Cienne Cruz and veteran playmaker Chie Saet.
“Medyo down ang itsura, medyo masama ang loob siyempre alam naman natin ‘yun, hindi naman sikreto ‘yun,” he said.
“Always trying to find a way up tayo. Na-identify naman natin ang mga weaknesses, marami naman tayong nagtutulungan diyan, unti-unti trabahuhin natin,” he added.
