ZUS Coffee was among the early surprise packages of the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference just before Galeries Tower swooped in to stun Cignal in the qualifying round.
A stacked offseason rebuild and a rare winning start to its campaign gave the Thunderbelles plenty to look forward to.
Through lengthy losing streaks and sorry defeats, ZUS Coffee has somehow found itself one win away from the playoffs by shocking a vulnerable Cignal side.

He might not be the emotional type of coach on the sidelines but Yee couldn’t hide the pride he’s felt all-conference long to see the Thunderbelles shed their cellar-dweller tag as the season ran its course.
Bottom-feeders they no longer are, but ‘perennial contenders’ they aren’t quite just yet.
In fact, Yee thinks they’re still way too far behind from where they want to be.
“Very proud kami (na maka-angat) mula sa pinanggalingan namin, but then, we always strive further and farther para talagang makapasok sa gusto nating (position as) perennial contenders,” said Yee.
“‘Yung perennial qualifiers, sa ngayon hindi pa kami ganun. Malayong-malayo pa. Maganda na may potential (na kami ngayon) and we will still work on our game.”
Young as they may be with an abundance of rookies and newcomers on hand this season, but age won’t let ZUS Coffee’s thirst for victories run to dry just yet.
“Bata pa yung team pero very hungry na kaming maka-panalo. Kahit saan man kami makakuha ng panalo, gugustuhin namin,” he said.
